Our Archives section will include a variety of archive material and artifacts which the group have gathered over their years of interest in both Hants & Dorset and Wilts & Dorset.
Upon the formation of H&DW&D in May 2009 we were entrusted with the collection of bound timetables which had been previously kept at Towngate House Poole, today’s head office of the Wilts & Dorset Bus Company under Go-Ahead ownership. These timetables date from 1930 for Hants & Dorset and 1924 for Wilts & Dorset. (Please click on an image to enlarge).
The destination blind carried in the rear display by Wilts & Dorset Bristol KSW5G 327 HAM 230 at the time of withdrawal from service in 1970 is in the collection having been with Peter Cook since 1970. 327 had been allocated to Andover for some years but ended its days as a float vehicle operating in Salisbury and Basingstoke.
