H&D VR’s – Subsequent Information (Please click on title to open) This is a Word document containing all known details of the disposals of former Hants & Dorset Bristol VR’s by their descendant companies Hampshire Bus, Solent Blue Line and Wilts & Dorset. Given the fascinating period in which these vehicles operated their onging history makes for an interesting following. The history will be constantly updated as and when new information becomes available. Please feel free to communicate any questions or corrections. A number of these vehicles have entered the preservation field in recent years: 3301, 3315, 3334, 3377, 3413*, 3422, 3428, 3435*,3436,3448,3450 and 3455 are currently known. * are retained by Go South Coast as Heritage vehicles.

As with the Bristol VRs these vehicles operated in a fascinating period and their ongoing history makes for an interseting following. This history will be constantly updated as new information becomes available. Please feel free to communicate any questions or corrections. A number of these vehicles have entered the preservation field in recent years: 3625, 3641 (now sadly scrapped), 3645, 3698 (briefly but then sold on), plus 3711 and 3732 which are probably best described as in active preservation.
Request Please Has anyone any photographs of the rear of VR 3377 UFX 858S when it was in service with Hants & Dorset? We are trying to ascertain the rear advertisements carried.
Request Please Has anyone any photographs of LH 3553 GLJ 485N when it operated for the Andover depot of Hants & Dorset? This vehicle still exists today in preservation on Malta and we are keen to furnish the owner with its history. Many thanks to John Weager for replying to our request with photos.
Chris Mills took this photograph of former 3553 in service on Malta during March 2010. With the changes to bus operations on Malta this and the variety of other older and interesting vehicles have now seen out their final days. (Click on image to enlarge)
